There are lots of reasons why kids love SpongeBob SquarePants – he’s funny, he’s kind, he’s a great friend. But there’s one reason above all others why SpongeBob is such a hit with kids… he’s just like them!
SpongeBob may live in a pineapple under the sea, but he faces the same daily struggles as kids do. He’s trying to figure out who he is and where he belongs in the world. He has to deal with bullies, he gets homesick, he gets nervous about tests… in other words, SpongeBob is a relatable character that kids can really connect with.
And that’s why SpongeBob will always be one of the most popular cartoon characters around – he’s just like us, only funnier and more Sponge-y!
