Throw Back: Iconic 80’s Halloween Costumes

This Halloween 1980’s nostalgia is trending. There are tons of throw back costumes in store and online. The popular 80’s come backs inspired us to take an entertaining look back at classic Halloween costumes from the 1980’s.

A trip down memory lane via Sesame street. They managed not to put pictures of the characters on these plastic smocks. Big bird is a little creepy though,

Mini mouse wearing a smock with her own picture on it. I was never sure why they did that so often with these costumes. The eyes are definitely funny.

Strawberry shortcake with a rather sinister looking older brother dressed as a creepy clown.

Why does Chewbacca look like everyone’s uncle? I don’t remember Yoda having a glittery shirt with his picture and name on it, but maybe George Lucas edited that out in the re-release. Is it even the same movie?

Same things never change, the ghost busters costumes have been more accurate for decades!

Again with the picture of the character on the smock, were they not sure people would know it was Alf?

I think we can be thankful this rainbow bright costume was discontinued. It could be repurposed as Quasimodo though.

Lamb Chops looking ready to box. This one looks a bit like if you crossed Bryan the dog from family guy, with Lamb Chops, and Winnie The Pooh. It’s practically an original character.

What could be more 80’s than Sheera and the monkey from The Wuzzles. In this case the name and photo on the smock was useful. That show definitely ended up in the forgotten realm of show designed to sell merchandise.

This Garfield is hilarious, I wish they would re-release it in adult sizes!
