Today on the Kiddable Blog, we have the pleasure of interviewing Davia Boston, a passionate advocate for children’s well-being from Atlanta, Georgia.

Davia is the founder of Joy’s Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing positive change to troubled children and assisting those in need. With a deep love for working with youth, Davia’s heartfelt mission is to inspire joy in the lives of all children, and she believes that every child deserves to discover their God-given happiness. She recently launched a new brand Joy and Jesus with an activity book that is designed to help young children discover their God-given joy through biblical stories, positive affirmations, crossword puzzles, word searches, and coloring sheets. Join us as we delve into Davia’s journey and learn more about her inspiring work.

What inspired you to create an activity book instead of a picture book?

I was inspired to create an activity book because I love variety. I wanted the youth to be able to explore and have different activities in the book that would help them learn about God in different ways. Whether it was coloring, learning through a word search, or a crossword puzzle.

Did you have a favorite activity as a child? Is it in the book?

Yes, most definitely! My favorite activity was coloring as a child. I still love coloring to this day! I find coloring so therapeutic and fun. It’s also a good way to relieve stress, get away from the outside world and noise, and a fun simple way to express yourself. It was only right to include coloring sheets throughout the book!

Is there a part of Joy and Jesus kid’s like best?

Yes, kids are loving the coloring sheets and word searches. But honestly, I am seeing every part of the book being utilized. Every child is different and has their own preferences. But the main part I’m loving is that they are being inspired through it and being exposed to the word of God.

Who is your favorite author?

My favorite authors are Joyce Meyers, Michael Todd, and Sarah Jakes Roberts. These authors have inspired me so much. I love authors who are transparent, who feed the soul, and who give you opportunities to learn and evolve in all aspects.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I just want to encourage everyone to stay faithful and prayerful daily. Keep seeking God even when it gets hard and allow him to stretch your faith and mature your walk and relationship with him. And as always, thank you so much for your love and support of the Joy and Jesus book!
