2024 Kiddable Awards: Entries Open

Entry is open! Here is what you need to know to part of our Kid’s Book Contest.

2024 marks the second ever Kiddable Awards – where we showcase and award amazing new kid’s books! The Award Winners will be announced Fall 2024 and will be featured not only on the Kiddable website but also in a press release/article featured on additional media outlets for added exposure for our featured authors!

We decided to create an online award program to showcase Indie Children’s Authors. Winning an award is a unique distinction and helps in the future creation and promotion of new books. It can also boost your credibility once you have a stamp of approval from outside your immediate network. Kiddable hopes to be different from other online awards in a good way!

Most Book Award programs make authors compete in 1 or 2 categories like “best picture book” ignoring the various genres and styles of books. We have more categories that better reflect the diversity in children’s literature and we hope to grow the award show year by year to feature even more.

In 2024, there are 10 Public Categories to choose from this year. We also have special selection categories as a bonus. Use the application form below to apply. There is a $50 USD application fee payable once your content is accepted. Prizes include a digital certificate for winners (gold, silver, and bronze) as well as digital PNG badges that can be printed or added to your content digitally signifying your success. We will also feature up to 3-5 finalists per category. Winners and finalists will also be featured on the 2024 awards page indefinitely!

We also try to interview as many winners and finalists as we can.

Rules & Regulations

Rules for entrants

  1. The content you submit must be free of adult content and innuendo.
  2. A creator or team may enter one book per author. Applicants may enter each book in up to 3 categories. A $59 USD entry fee will be charged per entry, if you wish to do more than one category please submit them separately even if they are for the same book. Taxes will be added to the total. If you are an agent or publisher and wish to enter multiple books by more than one author please fill out a separate entry form for each book and author. Choose the best fit for each category! Our moderators may suggest changing categories if you request to enter one that is not suitable. All entries will be eligible for special selection categories like “Staff Favorites”.
  3. We do not permit the bullying or harassment of competitors. Treat each other with respect. Do not post disrespectful comments or otherwise harass members of the Kiddable Team or other competitors.
  4. Content must be available for audiences in the United States and Canada. We prefer that content entered into each category is available globally, but this is not a requirement for most categories. The Online Discovery Award requires books be made available in the United States and Canada and in other regions as well. It should be noted we have audience members around the world.
  5. Content must be released within the entry period (September 2022 to June 2024). We understand that independent creators often have less control over their release dates and therefore want to make accommodations.
  6. Content must be submitted by the creator or a representative with the right to act on the creators behalf.
  7. The entry fee must be paid via Paypal to Kiddable. The price is $59.00 USD. After your entry is approved you will receive an invite to pay via email. Once your invoice is paid you will be entered in the award competition.

Regulations

  1. Winners will be chosen based on quality and overall presentation by the Kiddable Team. Kiddable may ask for opinions from trusted contractors with experience in select fields in the event the team cannot chose a winner. We reserve the right to select winners based on our internal criteria and have the right to receive recommendations from contractors. Any contractors selected to provide recommendations cannot and will not have content entered into the contest or any direct relation to any entrants (family, professional, or personal).
  2. Prior to billing eligibility will be verified by the Kiddable team based on an initial application from prospective entrants. Kiddable will not accept payment for the entry fee unless the entrant is approved and meets out basic standards (availability mentioned in section 4. of the rules and content suitability defined in section 1). Content must be legal and appropriate for children.
  3. Each Public Category will have Gold, Silver and Bronze winners. Special Selection Categories pay have a single winner only. Winners will receive a digital certificate signed by one of the Kiddable judges delivered via email and their content will be featured above the finalists on the award show presentation page signifying their status as the winner in their category. Winners will also receive a badge with Kiddable branding and the permission to use it on their content as a seal-of-approval if they wish. The badges can be printed and added to the content or they can be added digitally, depending on the contestants preferences.
  4. After an entry is approved and the fee is received there will be no refunds under any circumstances. Once the content has been approved that signifies completion of our submission protocol and service.
  5. Kiddable does not except payment in exchange for awards or certain selection statuses. We do not guarantee wins or finalist status and we reserve the right to chose the winners based on the criteria listed in the previous sections and in relation to the other entries based on our team’s professional opinion.
  6. Content ownership remains with the company or content creator that submitted it. We reserve the right to show a sample of the submitted content on our website indefinitely, and feature samples of the content on our social media after the competition is complete. Kiddable also reserves the right to share samples of the content in the future (indefinitely) when promoting future awards (this is a good thing). Kiddable will not publicly release or distribute the complete contents of any entry unless special arrangements are made separately from the context of the award presentation.
  7. Content for consideration must be provided in an accessible Google Drive Folder (ie: anyone with a link can view). Don’t worry the link will be kept private and will only be used by the Kiddable Award Team.
